HOLY WRESTLEPALOOZA!!!
OMG!! UWE and Eric Freedom tore the roof off The Wex in Cadillac last night. If you were not there you missed one hell of a show. Though Kevin Nash was unable to attend X-Pac took his place and tagged with Eric Freedom against former ECW star Kevin Thorne and first surprise appearance of the evening;1/2 of the WWE former tag team champions Doug Basham in a main event that was awesome! Hacksaw Jim Duggan helped out Steve Amani and Chris Cairo against The Canadian Hit Squad. In a second surprise that shocked all in attendance SABU saved Rhino from the cheating ways of The Hype And Gameboy. With 800 in attendance this UWE show outdrew and, according to the fans, out performed the TNA show that was there in February of this year. Overall UWE and people around the area raised over 3000 non-perishable food stuffs for the Shepherd's Table. Thanks to all who attended and sponsored the show. Due to the huge response, UWE is planning on returning to The Wex next year and have already started thinking about the line-up,just for you fans, this reporter has heard talk of Al Snow, King Kong Bundy, and Jimmy Snuka as well as The Steiner Brothers. Remember for the best indy wrestling in Michigan It is UWE.
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
Holy Cow!! FRONT ROW SOLD OUT!!!
Well if you were waiting to get your front row seat for this event, looks like you'll be coming in second! Second row that is. Front row are SOLD OUT, yep you heard it folks, SOLD OUT. This reporter for one is glad to hear it, since this event will be benefiting the local Shepherd's Table, a group that provides free meals to the community on Tuesday and Thursday, last year they provided over 35,000 meals! UWE is always ready to assist worthy causes, and I for one don't think a cause gets more worthy than this. Don't forget to bring your non-perishable items to the show to help keep the food on the table! Even if you are not the biggest wrestling fan come out and help UWE donate more to the Shepherd's Table! See you there.
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
Holy Cow!!
Well folks if you missed SKIDAMANIA not only did you miss out on getting up close and personal with Ryan Howe from Tough Enough, but you missed a major opportunity to purchase tickets in advance of the general population for Headlock on Hunger in November. This is a major event that will help the Cadillac Shepherd's Table. Those attending are asked to bring some non-perishable food stuffs to help this worthy cause. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm to 6pm they serve quality meals at no cost to any who attend. They also deliver these meals to those who can't get out of their houses. Over 35,000 meals were served in 2010, and as always, Eric and Tracy are there to lend a hand to worthwhile causes. A few others felt this cause was worth taking time out of their busy schedules," HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN, "BAD ASS" BILLY GUNN, and "THE WAR MACHINE" RHYNO!!! Now I have been told that there is another Superstar 99% sure he can attend, he just has to check his schedule. So if you want to know who else is coming keep checking here for the latest news with me, Vince Ventura!
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
SKIDAMANIA almost here!We are only about three weeks away from SKIDAMANIA!! I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of returning UWE alumni Ryan Howe (Diamond Steel or Skid Marks from Tough Enough) kicking the life out of Justin James and the Canadian Punk Squad! Sorry folks, I know I am supposed to remain an objective third party and just present the facts, but those are the facts aren't they? I also hope Jessie Bell Smothers walks all over Melanie Cruise. Can you believe that she tried to sell the Championship to Jimmy Blaze? Wait, yes I can. Can you believe Jimmy Blaze would buy it instead of proving all his bluster and facing Eric Freedom for it? Wait, I can believe that too. I would love to see Eric take the tournament and remain Champ. And in reference to the big announcement being made for Gladwin attendees in advance of the general population: IT"S BIG!! It's bigger than big, I can't wait for you all to find out about it. YOU REALLY WANT TO BE IN GLADWIN JULY 30!!
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
Freedom Hoodwinked by Blaze!
Saturday's Game On show was Awesome! The show was only marred by two things (Gameboy doesn't count he's always there) 1. The Canadian Hit Squad kept the titles and remain Tag Team Champions over Street Smart ( the team of Chris Cairo and Steve Amani) and 2. Eric Freedom beat Melanie Cruise to regain the UWE Heavyweight Title only to find out that Cruise had sold the belt earlier that evening to "Psychotic" Jimmy Blaze. Though never truly on anyone's side but his own Gameboy was infuriated when he found out about the back room dealing taking place in his newly acquired company. In an unbelievable and totally uncharacteristic move, Gameboy vacated the Heavyweight Title and announced a tournament for July 30th's Skidamania show. If you haven't been to a UWE show you better be at SKIDAMANIA because this reporter has heard that there will be a HUGE announcement that the attending audience will get advanced knowledge of the big plan.
Kamp Omelette had SUPER BUGS!!!>
UWE would like to thank Omelette and Finster for inviting us to their party and making all of us feel welcome, Betsie River Canoe and Campground owner Mark for rolling out the red tent for us, and all of the KLT listeners who were kind enough to share whatever they had with us. A sincere THANK YOU to all of you from all of us at UWE.UWE had the BEST time at Kamp Omelette. There were new friends made and a great new business partnership created with Omelette and Finster over at KLT. The bands were all off the chain, but the UWE crowd hung around with an AWESOME Band out of Boston... SUPERBUG!! Not only can these guys rock their own material but, knock the crap out of their covers of Faith No More and Pink Floyd! If you want some Awesome new tunes, check out the guys of Superbug, we have a link to the site on the side of the page. I have been told that if asked UWE will be returning to next year's Kamp Omelette. The rumor is that it may become the company get together spot! Who knows, I sure hope so!
Kamp Omelette
UWE will be wrestling LIVE at CAMP OMELETTE this Saturday June 4th!! And if that isn't exciting enough, Eric Freedom will be in studio and on air with Omelette and Finster this Friday between 7 and 10 AM! The guys are excited to be having UWE at the Camp, since Finster is a big wrestling fan. As always Eric has some tricks up his sleeve and you may want to listen in, cuz you never know who might be calling in to the Show!! Who knows, maybe they will let Eric answer a few fans questions. So don't miss your favorite Froot Loop throwing, tye dyed King of the Ring this Friday on WKLT 97.5 FM. WKLT doesn't reach your neck of the woods? No worries just type "listen to WKLT online" in your search bar and listen on the hosting site of your choice. If I don't see you at Camp Omelette, then I hope to see you at Game On Saturday the 18th of June at the Gladwin Ice Arena!

A New Champion?!
I for one am one disappointed voter!! What is this world coming to? Gameboy wins the election in a LANDSLIDE?! I know all of the UWE fans I spoke with voted for Tracy, and with a crowd of less than the 200 votes Gameboy got... I'm confused. Are we living in Florida? Is Gameboy a Bush? Does anyone else feel cheated? And to top it off Melanie Cruise as Heavyweight Champion! What the hell is going on here?? I am hoping the Formal Wear Match June 18th will put the belt back on Freedom.Cairo and Amani SHOULD be Tag Champs, but Gameboy has his dirty little fingers in everything and so the Canadian Hit Squad retain the titles. This is ANARCHY!! Cats and dogs living together...!! Bill Murray would be horrified by this situation.
The New Season is almost here!!!
Well if you didn't come to LakeVille you missed one heck of a GREAT UWE show!! Looks like UWE will be returning there again this fall. Rumor has it that an old UWE face will be returning at Rock the Vote! I am so excited to see who it is! The bigger issue this show is the impending vote for Commish. Gameboy feels that the last Gladwin event was postponed to prevent his inevitable win over current UWE Commish and Owner Tracy. This reporter has never known Tracy to back down on anything and I doubt that it was fear that caused the delay of the Gladwin UWE season. I for one will be certain to make this show to ensure my vote is cast. So if you don't want Gameboy as Commish (or if you do) be sure to come to Gladwin and...ROCK THE VOTE!!!
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
Happy New Year!!
WOW ! Another year gone, another Great show planned for UWE. This February UWE will be expanding its reach and bringing the best indy wrestling in Michigan to Lakeville!! Saturday February 12th all your favorite UWE stars will be helping the Lakeville/Otisville areas raise money for their sports teams. Right now they need to renovate their football field and UWE is lending a hand. So if you are a Detroit native and have not seen a UWE show, this is your chance! And you'll be supporting a good cause to boot.
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
Rock the Vote?!?!
Well it appears to this reporter that the Gameboy may actually have a little game. He has some supporters that feel the current owner/commissioner is doing a less than professional job at running UWE and bringing the fans less than first rate wrestling. Now before you all get up in arms and angry at me (don't kill the messenger) I am NOT in support of Gameboy's platform. But there are those who are and if you don't want Gameboy in charge of YOUR FAVORITE PRO WRESTLING COMPANY, get yourself and all your friends to the show January 22 and VOTE!! You read that right, vote. The fans will have a choice to make: Gameboy or Tracy. Winner gets control of UWE. So if you like UWE the way it is , get out and tell Gameboy you've got TWO WORDS for him.....VOTE TRACY!!!
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
Eric Freedom will face Rex Hart for the Heavyweight Title. Also on the card:
BREAKING NEWS!!!!
UWE has changed the line up for Homecoming!! In light of her release from WWE , the officials at UWE are bringing back yet another UWE favorite, SERENA!! Having appeared for UWE twice before, Serena was thrilled to be returning to Michigan. This was quite an achievement for UWE, being the first independent wrestling federation that Serena has accepted appearing for!! What a show this is going to be, don't miss it!!
Gearing up for Halloween Homecoming!!
There are some BIG matches scheduled for UWE's Homecoming Show. The Steele Cage with PsychoDelic Inc. and The Canadian Hit Squad is at the top of my list! Ruff Crossing has told this reporter that he has every intention to "leave it all in the ring" for the fans that night and that he hopes Levi Blue brings his A game as well as his Bull Rope. Levi's response was that he has NEVER lost a Bull Rope match in his life and he doesn't intend to start now. I'm on the fence with this one,Levi has the years and experience, but Ruff has the determination and drive. For the first time in UWE history there will be a midget match at Homecoming!! Can't wait for this one. Justin James will be facing off against ODB in another first,an inter gender match. Gotta go with the ODB in this match up. There's plenty of action scheduled for this evening, and if the wrestling wasn't enough, UWE officials have announced a costume contest and Trick or Treating for our younger fans!! This is gonna be a BLAST!! See you there!!
WOW!! The fans really hit the jackpot at Lucky 7's!!!
Fans remarked that this was the BEST show yet!! It was non stop action from start to finish. After both being counted out, Levi Blue returned to the ring and began choking Ruff Crossing with his bull rope! Not one to let these things go, the commish set them up with a bull rope match for Halloween Homecoming Oct. 30th. Justin James defeated Al Snow via DQ,when Al struck James with Head. The Canadian Hit Squad retain their titles over Psycho-Delic Inc. with help from Rex Hart.Diamond Steel wins the battle royal, and gets a title shot whenever he chooses. I can't wait for Homecoming!!
June's Summer Supernova was another phenominal show at the Gladwin Ice Arena. UWE once again brought the goods. Former TNA Knockouts Traci Brooks and ODB added more attitude to the Women's division. Will the fact that her own tag partner turned on her force Melanie Cruise to keep her mouth shut? Time will only tell, but this reporter has a feeling Ms. Cruise is a bit too bullheaded to let it stop her for long.
Summer Supernova also brought a new member to the Universyl Wrestling Enterprizes Hall Of Fame. ODB became the first woman inducted into the UWE Hall of Fame after her match,by long time friend and our hero, "Electric" Eric Freedom.
UWE will be celebrating their 7th anniversary with their next show. Lucky 7's takes place on August 7th at the Gladwin Ice Arena. Former WWE/ECW/Tough Enough star Al Snow will be in action. All seats just $7. Call 231-775-5356 for tickets. Watch the website and forum for more details in the coming days and weeks. Join the UWE Forum at http://universyl.proboards.com/
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
Only a few short weeks left until Universyl Wrestling Enterprizes takes over the Gladwin Ice Arena for Summer Supernova. Eric Freedom has announced the card for the night:
Tickets are selling fast so head to the UWE Store and order your's today or call 231-775-5356 to reserve. Ringside and 2nd row include a meet and greet with the superstars and free autographed 8x10. Believe me when I tell you, YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS SHOW!
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
What an outstanding show at Gladwin High School! UWE's Cabin Fever was far beyond the hype, a solid show from start to finish. And this reporter will admit, I MARKED OUT for Road Dogg! How can you not?
The Canadian title domination came to an end at Cabin Fever. The Canadian Hit Squad lost the straps to PsychoDelic Inc, even with a 5 on 3 handicap. Oh Canada? Oh good grief! Epic FAIL, boys! With Rex "The Role Model" Hart still holding the Heavyweight Championship, I know we have not heard the last from those hosers.
Those of you that missed the opening show of the 2010 season also missed the official announcement from "Electric" Eric Freedom. April might be known for bringing showers, but for UWE it will bring "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and "The One Legged Wonder" Zach Gowen! After Justin James stated he could beat any handicapped person there, our hero, "Electric" Eric Freedom informed Mr. James that he would be facing Gowen at Locked and Loaded. I, for one, am anxious to see the uber arrogant Justin James humiliated by "The One Legged Wonder".
Tickets are on sale now and sure to sell out. You do not want to miss this show.
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
I know it is the middle of winter, everyone is sick and tired of being cold, so Vince has a little feel good story to warm the heart and soul. Whether you love him, or love to hate him, UWE veteran Levi Blue has a story few know. The resident redneck bad boy was separated from his brother when he was 12. Being so young, he lacked the resources to find and remain in contact with his brother. You know how it is when families separate sometimes: you go your way, I will go mine and we will call it good. So Levi went on with his life and put his brother to the back of his mind. He continued to wonder where his brother is and what he is doing now.
Long time fans know Gladwin is UWE territory. All of the local businesses know Eric on sight and cheerfully greet him with, "Oh the wrestlers are back." They happily hang posters in their shop windows. What are the odds that Levi's brother lives in Gladwin and would see a poster? Pretty good, because that is exactly what happened. After seeing the poster, and being a wrestling fan, he went to the UWE website to check it out. While going over the roster he found Levi and then contacted him through the link on his profile. UWE officials are leaving two complimentary tickets at the gate, so that Levi can reunite with his long lost sibling. So, if Road Dogg's presence was not momentous enough, a reunion over 20 years in the making should be the icing on the cake.
Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
Ok. The cat is out of the bag, or more aptly, The Dogg. Yes, headlining February 13th's Cabin Fever is former WWE/TNA Superstar Road Dogg B.G. James. His opponent has not been released yet but I am excited to see him in action, live in Northern Michigan. Eric Freedom was with The Dogg earlier this month and told me that Dogg is excited to be coming to Northern Michigan, since the furthest North he has been in a while is Lansing. Thanks to the UWE for bringing wrestling legends to the forgotten fans in Northern Michigan!! Eat your heart out Detroit!! Don't forget that first and second rows receive an 8x10 and private meet and greet with Dogg before the show. See ya there!
Alright UWE fans, your favorite reporter has some good news and some bad news. The good news, UWE will be returning to Gladwin at the high school! Bad news, it's not until February. So we will have to hold out a little longer for quality indie wrestling. Though the card hasn't been finalized, I have been told that some of our favorite UWE superstars will be in attendance, as well as some new faces. Scheduled to appear are Psychodelic Inc. (Electric Eric Freedom and Jimmy Blaze), The Lost Soul Chris Cairo, The Gameboy, The Pretty Boy Redneck Levi Blue and UWE Tag Team Chumpions...I mean Champions the Canadian Hit Squad with UWE Heavyweight Champion Rex Hart. The new faces on the horizon include Diamond Steele, The Prince, Terry Allen, Christopher Saint, Hardcore Craig, Brandon Bishop, and Cadillac Jones. I know I for one, am excited about seeing the guys I like as well as what the new guys can bring to the table. I've also been told that a former WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPION and former TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPION will be in action as well. Though I wasn't told the name of the superstar, I have a couple of guesses that maybe I will post on the forum. I'd like to hear your guesses too. The show is February 20th. Tickets will be available for purchase through the website starting November 1, 2009. Stay tuned for more information. Until next time, this is Vince Ventura. Good night and God bless!
For The Boys was a success in raising two BIG boxes of supplies for our troops. Thanks to those who came out and supported not only the UWE but also all of our deployed servicemen and women. We send our continued wishes for a speedy and safe return for all of our troops. On that note, one half of the former UWE Tag Team Champions, The Cocky Little Brats, "Top Dog" Asten Williams, has returned home from his tour of duty in Iraq. Eric spoke with "Top Dog" and he has plans of making the military his career, by becoming a drill instructor with the United States Army. We at UWE wish him all of the best.
UWE owes its longevity in Pro Wrestling to YOU, the fans. Your support has kept us motivated to continue bringing the best in family entertainment to Northern and Central Michigan. We are currently seeking new venues to host future events. If you would like UWE to run in your town, and have information on a building or school large enough to host a UWE event, please contact us at UWECW@yahoo.com or 231-775-5356. Please include building name, location and contact information and we will look into bringing an event to you. So until the next time, good night and God Bless, Vince.
Well Mat Mania was Awesome!! The introduction of The Great Malaki was unreal,he has an entourage that "summons" him up. Now where he's coming from, I don't know, but I don't think it's a happy place. ZaneRamsey was yet another new face that put on an impressive first showing by defeating The Gameboy. And the literal monsters brawl with Cyanide and Machine it spilled out of the ring and continued to the locker room!! But, perhaps the best news for this fan is the reforming of the tag team Psycho-Delic Inc., consisting of Eric Freedom and Jimmy Blaze,to go for the titles against The Canadian Hit Squad. There was even excitment on the outside of the ring as one of the fans had a mild siezure, the man was alright and went home on his own two feet, even the fans a tough at UWE. For The Boys is the next event and the folks at UWE are always helping out someone, this time it's our military peeps. The goal is to raise personal items to send to the troops of deployed UWE wrestlers. Now anything fans bring will not be wasted, they LOVE candy and snacks of any kind, medicated powder, baby wipes, any of the things we use daily and don't even think about. I have also been told toilet paper is a hot commodidity. The fans at UWE never disappoint in the department of giving, even in these trying times. So I look forward to seeing a HUGE bunch of stuff to ship out at For The Boys!! Until then Good Night , and God Bless.
All I can say is WOW!! The April 11 show at the Ice Arena was AWESOME!! We saw some old favorites return, I know I was glad to see Blaze, and I was NOT impressed by Team Canada. Can they win without cheating?? Probably NOT. And what about Cyanide? He looked as if he was going to eat poor referee PeeWee Pirella, that my friends is one mean dude. I know if I were a wrestler, I'd be terrified to be in the ring with him. Where did the UWE find this guy?,a prison for the criminally insane?? Anyway, the crowd was Rockin' as usual, and so was the wrestling,it's hard to say which was my favorite match. Now I have heard some inside information that there are plans for more changes in the company , including something really big toward Homecoming, but the lid is pretty tight on what exactly it is,though Eric has said it will blow the fans away. I have heard of some pretty cool things that are going to be introduced at each show. There will be an"old school wrestling look"coming to UWE. Now, being from a younger generation of wrestling fan, my old school doesn't go too far back. So , I am going to try and find some older dvds or stuff on the web as research to see what may be coming in. I would like to hear what you fans think this may mean, so drop me a line at askvinceventura@yahoo.com with your ideas ,and I will put together a predictions column for next time. I may even ask if anyone guesses correctly,if they can get some sort of prize.Don't hold me to that , I still have to check with the boss, but that would be cool.
- So until next time, this is Vince Ventura signing off,Goodnight America.
